"Patience"
Words & Music by Lisa Sanders
Featuring San Diego's premier guitar player Dave Belldock.
Late one night I was up and couldn't sleep. Brown Sugar (Karen Hayes) was heading off to work and I said to her as she was leaving "What should I do while you are gone"? She said, "Write me a song".
So Patience was written right after she left for work. To this day one of Karen's favorite songs.
"Patience"
Patience is something I can't wait on,
And laughter not always my friend
but your scriptures remind me of where I'd like my thoughts to end
Not a second guess for a single chance with you, just you
Chorus
Patience a gift from up above
I claim to be human when I fail
At telling you, only you, I love
Verse
Sometimes I wish I never cried
made you think it was something contrived
Cause I don't want to miss a single kiss from you, just you
Chorus
Patience a gift from up above
I claim to be human when I fail
At telling you, only you, I love
